Position Overview

Statera Talent is seeking a Commodities Trading Analyst for a prominent buy-side firm located in London.

This role is situated on the trading floor, where you will work closely with traders and origination teams, playing a key role in shaping trading strategies and facilitating deal approvals.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating market trends, identifying potential risks within the trading portfolio, and analyzing the fundamental factors that drive revenue. Exceptional communication skills are crucial, as you will be required to present findings directly to senior executives, including the CEO and CCO.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of experience in a Front Office Commodities position, whether through a permanent role or a graduate program. Candidates with backgrounds in Market Risk Analysis or Product Control, along with a solid grasp of market fundamentals, are also encouraged to apply.

Opportunities for advancement into trading roles are common for high-performing individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critically assess and evaluate trading strategies.
  • Analyze the effects of market fluctuations, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments on the trading portfolio.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of specific trading positions to assess risk and reward dynamics.
  • Deliver actionable insights to C-Suite executives, summarizing risk exposures, market conditions, and trading strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a quantitative field is required.
  • Previous experience in a Front Office or Middle Office capacity, particularly in commodities trading or risk management, is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and challenge traders effectively.
  • Familiarity with complex commodities products is a plus.
