Position Overview

Statera Talent is seeking a Commodities Trading Analyst for a prominent buy-side organization located in London.

This role is situated on the trading floor, where you will work closely with traders and origination teams, playing a key role in shaping trading strategies and facilitating deal approvals.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating market conditions, identifying potential risks within the trading portfolio, and analyzing the primary factors that drive revenue generation. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, as you will be required to present findings directly to senior executives, including the CEO and CCO.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of experience in a Front Office Commodities position, whether through a permanent employment opportunity or a commercial graduate program. Candidates with a background in Market Risk Analysis or Product Control, who have a solid grasp of market fundamentals, will also be considered.

It is common for high-performing individuals to transition into trading roles within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent reviews and evaluations of trading strategies.
  • Analyze the effects of market fluctuations, economic data releases, and geopolitical developments on the trading portfolio.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of specific trading positions to assess risk and reward dynamics.
  • Deliver actionable insights to C-Suite executives, summarizing risk exposures, market conditions, and trading strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a quantitative field is required.
  • Previous experience in a Front Office or Middle Office capacity, particularly in commodities trading or risk management, is essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback to traders.
  • Familiarity with complex commodities products is a plus.
