Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician Team Leader to join our dynamic team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient experience services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders within the Ophthalmology department and Trust-wide.
  • Ensure that patient care is at the forefront of priorities, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and experience.
  • Coordinate and manage follow-up appointments, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients and staff.
  • Work independently and without supervision, using your own initiative to resolve issues and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve patient experience and service delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to the Ophthalmology team, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Good general level of education and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience of working in a customer-facing environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proven IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Awareness of the concept and application of confidentiality.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS or a healthcare-related setting.
  • Audio typing skills or equivalent.
  • NVQ/Diploma in Administration or equivalent.
