About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Design and Engineering to join our team at Marshalls PLC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a customer-focused technical, design, and engineering strategy that supports our future growth plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a cross-functional team across the UK to deliver innovative solutions and drive operational excellence.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to develop and execute a roadmap that positions us as industry leaders.
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Engage with internal departments, clients, and contractors to represent the business through external trade and legislative bodies.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of technical or civil engineering background.
  • A relevant engineering qualification to degree or chartered level.
  • Experience using design software packages such as AUTOCAD, Revit, or 3D Civils.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with a professional, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Experience of people and change management.
  • Ability to work at leadership level to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Previous experience within the drainage, water management, or SuDS sectors is desirable.
