Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Design and Engineering to join our team at Marshalls PLC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a customer-focused technical, design, and engineering strategy that will support our future growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a cross-functional team across the UK to deliver innovative design and engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to develop and implement a customer-focused technical, design, and engineering strategy.
  • Lead and inspire a talented team, driving innovation and operational excellence.
  • Build strong client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Represent the business through external trade and legislative bodies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years technical or civil engineering background.
  • A relevant engineering qualification to degree/chartered level.
  • Experience using design software packages such as AUTOCAD, Revit, or 3D Civils.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solver with a professional, 'can do' attitude.
  • Experience of people and change management.
  • Ability to work at leadership level to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Previous experience within the drainage, water management, or SuDS sectors is desirable.
