Job Summary

Marshalls is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Design Engineer to lead our Civil Engineering function. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a customer-focused technical, design, and engineering strategy that supports our future growth plans.

About the Role

You will work closely with our Managing Director and leadership team to drive innovation and operational excellence across our Sales, Marketing, and Operations departments. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and inspiring a talented team of engineers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Building strong relationships with clients and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Representing the business through external trade and legislative bodies
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and innovation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5+ years of technical or civil engineering experience
  • A relevant engineering qualification to degree or chartered level
  • Experience using design software packages such as AUTOCAD, Revit, or 3D Civils
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills with a professional, 'can-do' attitude
  • Experience of people and change management
  • Ability to work at leadership level to develop and implement strategic plans
