About the Role:

The Placement Officer will be responsible for identifying and securing placements for children and young people in need of care. This will involve working closely with the Placement Commissioning Team, foster carers, and external organizations to ensure that placements meet the care planning requirements of Hampshire children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure placements for children and young people in need of care
  • Work closely with the Placement Commissioning Team, foster carers, and external organizations to ensure that placements meet the care planning requirements
  • Use administrative systems to manage placement searches and referrals
  • Attend meetings and provide updates on placement progress
  • Support foster carers via welfare calls for emergency placements

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or in a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment
