About the Role

St Giles Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Violence Mentor to join our CIRV program. As a Community Violence Mentor, you will play a critical role in providing intensive and holistic wraparound mentoring to individuals and families at risk of gang and youth violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and support young people, adults, and families at risk of gang and youth violence
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Develop and implement risk management plans based on assessments
  • Collaborate with the CIRV team to access support and bring about change in the client group
  • Work closely with the Evaluation team to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Provide practical advice to professionals working with clients at risk of gang and youth violence
Requirements
  • Relevant experience of the criminal justice system
  • Experience of engaging successfully with challenging individuals
  • Proven track record of negotiating with partner agencies to establish links
  • Experience of working to targets and recording information and statistics
  • Knowledge of the drivers and risks associated with gang involvement and youth violence
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills
