About the Role

Transport for Wales is seeking a highly skilled Grant Funding Manager to lead our grant funding team in the management of applications, claims, and payments to and from Local Authorities in relation to the Welsh Government's Active Travel Fund and TrawsCymru services, and other grants as advised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the grant funding team by planning, prioritizing, and managing ongoing activities in liaison with project leads and line manager to ensure grant administration can be undertaken to enable settlement of grant applications and contract obligations in line with Welsh Government guidelines and desired transport outcomes.
  • Administer grant applications by communicating the current guidelines to applicants, as well as processing, checking, and assessing applications to ensure compliance in line with Transport for Wales (TfW) sign-off arrangements.
  • Administer grant and contract payment applications by providing support for the assessment of payment applications to the line manager, in line with key performance indicators to ensure payment applications are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provision of support, advice, liaison, training, and management by using all communication to grant applicants and contract holders to ensure effective grant, contract, and scheme delivery, including recommendations for enhancements to the grant processes where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in the development, review, or reporting of grant/funding applications, or other financial claims within Welsh Government or Local Authorities or public transport operations.
  • Previous demonstrable experience of applying a high level of attention to detail and finance/excel experience.
  • Experience of following process, procedures, or work instructions to demonstrate consistent and accurate administration activities.
  • Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office and/or database/CRM systems.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
