Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative to join our team at Uniting People. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for delivering budgeted sales targets for a specific geographical territory by managing and developing existing customer accounts and actively prospecting, winning & opening new accounts.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To develop existing customer relationships and actively pursue new business opportunities to ensure sales forecast and revenue targets are met at a ratio of 80% growth from existing customers and 20% new business.
  2. Visit existing customers, work with them to grow sales by identifying lost products, additional products to range/category, new product developments, and promotions – collaborate with your sales buddy to ensure alignment & harmony on customer growth plan – use customer engagement tools to share notes, actions & next steps.
  3. Visit and develop nominated national & regional accounts using authorized buying lists and period briefs/activities as issued by the sales manager & in line with agreed visit frequencies.
  4. Actively pursue & convert new business leads.
  5. Manage territory on a daily basis achieving required visit frequency by account classification.
  6. Communicate & agree plan of action with sales buddy.
  7. Actively convert customers to online sales channels.
  8. On a monthly basis share a territory business plan with sales manager detailing performance to date & forward actions.
  9. Use reports provided to establish current trends across account base & identify key actions & objectives by customer to be completed within sales cycle.
  10. All data to be fully completed within daily sales record & or customer engagement tools. Weekly calendar to be updated minimum 4 weeks in advance.
  11. Ensure all customer inquiries are responded to within 24 hours of receipt and to make sure all issues are addressed and resolved as quickly as possible.
  12. Continual improvement of product knowledge to share with customers to improve sales growth.
  13. Present product samples in customer locations when required.
  14. Deliver launch days for new customers.
  15. Drive concept sales in line with allocated targets.
  16. To manage return on investment within all equipment placements across the territory to ensure maximum return on investment; relevant action to be taken if equipment is delivering under investment target.
  17. To follow agreed company processes and policies for pricing, samples, account opening, credit applications, credit requests, and quality control.
  18. To undertake any reasonable request asked of you by the management team.
  19. To always represent the Company in a professional and positive manner.
  20. Identifying which prospect accounts are most valuable and making these a priority.

Requirements:

  2. Excellent communication skills: verbal, written & numeric
  3. Competitive, results-oriented
  4. Field sales experience preferably within a retail convenience setting
  5. Problem-solving skills
  6. Entrepreneurial mindset
  7. FMCG experience
  8. Structured selling technique
  9. Demonstrable drive & enthusiasm
  10. Good PC & Microsoft application skills
  11. Bakery knowledge

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday

Compensation:

  • £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
  • Bonus scheme

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: On the road
