Position Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated General Practitioner to take on a role comprising 6-8 clinical sessions. The practice is situated in a vibrant market town, offering excellent local amenities and transport connections. The facility is housed in a modern building with ample parking available.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own patient list and participate in a weekly duty doctor triage session. We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic GP who is committed to providing high-quality care. Newly qualified GPs will receive mentorship and weekly supervision. The practice utilizes a clinical triage platform and encourages the development of specialist interests.
About the Practice
This role is within a forward-thinking health group that collaborates closely with local healthcare services. The team comprises multiple partners, salaried GPs, and various healthcare professionals, all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. The practice has a patient list size of approximately 17,700 and employs advanced systems for patient management.
Job Duties
Each session will consist of 14 appointments, including a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations. Daily huddles and weekly clinical meetings are integral to our practice culture.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- General administrative tasks such as referrals, correspondence, and lab results.
- One duty doctor session weekly to handle urgent requests and emergencies.
- Participation in daily huddles and weekly clinical meetings.
- Engagement in contract and audit work as necessary.
- Completion of insurance reports and other non-GMS tasks as required.
- Involvement in the Same Day Service rota and Extended Hours as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Recent experience in general practice within the UK.
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
- Inclusion on the medical performers list.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF) standards.
- Evidence of independent practice and service improvement.
- Participation in audits and quality initiatives.
- Additional qualifications in specialized areas are advantageous.
Qualifications and Skills
- Medical practitioner with a completed certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
- DBS clearance.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Strong communication skills and understanding of current primary care challenges.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
