Portfolio Manager, Research Infrastructure

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is seeking a highly skilled Research Manager to support the monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities of its high-profile portfolio of clinical and applied health research infrastructure funding schemes.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Infrastructure team and the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to develop and implement strategies and solutions to embed new approaches to award-level data monitoring and reporting across the research infrastructure portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Annual Reporting Process: Support the management of the annual reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports.
- Reporting Strategy: Support the review and implementation of new approaches to annual reporting, including the development of reporting templates and guidelines.
- Data Analysis: Analyze reporting outputs, providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis for projects across the infrastructure portfolio.
Requirements:
- Education: A Master's or PhD degree in biomedical or health sciences research.
- Experience: Experience of working in research funding/management, with a strong understanding of the monitoring of funding awards and evaluation of programs.
- Skills: Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to write reports and analyze data.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge: Current knowledge of the UK's health and care research and policy landscape.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in stakeholder management within and across multiple organizations.
Additional Information:
This is a 12-month maternity cover position, advertised at 1.0 FTE. The role is office-based, with an expectation for all employees to attend our offices a minimum of 4 days a month.
