Lead Site Manager - Infrastructure Projects

Location - Aberdeen

Key Responsibilities:

You will be involved in our Infrastructure initiatives and frameworks. Ideally, you will be based locally, although we are open to supporting relocation.

Assist the project teams in managing third-party interactions by actively engaging with clients, coordinating communications with external parties, promoting the company and the project, addressing complaints, and fulfilling engagement requirements.

  • Foster a 'Knowingly Safe' working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM principles and relevant legislation.
  • Deliver Highways England's Imperatives of 'Safety, Customer, and Delivery' on schedule.
  • Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to achieve a safe, buildable, and timely design during the detailed design phase for efficient project delivery.
  • Work alongside the Senior Project Manager, estimating, and commercial teams to prepare robust budget submissions and secure client agreement for construction commencement.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to manage project changes.
  • Organize and facilitate collaborative workshops as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes in all procurement activities to achieve best value.
  • Confirm that all pre-commencement and regulatory requirements are met before work begins.
  • Plan and prepare for the delivery of the project throughout its lifecycle.
  • Implement Temporary Works processes, ensuring requirements are understood, designed, and monitored on-site in a timely manner.
  • Appoint a Utility Service Coordinator and ensure compliance with all company permit-to-work systems.
  • Plan and oversee the establishment of site offices and compounds.
  • Advocate for the use of innovative technologies and methodologies.
  • Manage risks and opportunities in collaboration with the Risk Manager and Senior Project Manager.
  • Ensure thorough investigation and resolution of any incidents or accidents, implementing lessons learned.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and delivery of work to the required standards.
  • Oversee Construction Teams and Supply Chain partners to ensure project delivery aligns with the agreed Budget, Programme, and Scope.

Candidate Profile:

  • Promote a positive culture of safety, quality, and inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing teams and contributing to their professional growth.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of meeting client expectations.
  • Well-developed communication skills with experience in client and supply chain interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Excellent understanding of NEC contracts and commercial acumen.
  • Strong leadership and delegation capabilities.
  • Experience in Design and Build / Early Contractor Involvement within infrastructure projects.
