About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT MES Application Support Specialist to join our IT department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for the MES application and software deployed across our estate.
  • Take ownership of application-related support incidents and resolve them in a timely fashion to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Escalate issues to and work with the application vendor and support providers to resolve them where necessary.
  • Support application configurations and maintain Opcenter through regular system management and upgrades.
  • Ensure licenses are kept up to date and consumption is monitored.
  • Deploy new versions of software to end users in conjunction with Operations and Service Delivery teams.
  • Identify opportunities for application rationalization and cost savings.
  • Provide user training and materials as needed.
  • Proactively identify upcoming issues related to applications and work with Operations, Infrastructure, and Service Delivery teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain awareness of cyber security best practices and ensure applications are maintained with this in mind at all times.
  • Manage and maintain application interfaces, exports, and imports, and ensure their smooth running where required.
  • Analyze data from systems and produce technical and business reports for consumption by the IT management team, departmental managers, and the SLT.
  • Translate complex business requirements into application solutions with the support of technical colleagues, external providers, and business stakeholders.
  • Assist the IT Management team to ensure IT best practice and business policies are followed by the business.
  • Drive and execute technical activities related to the corporate MES system, including designing, developing, maintaining, and documenting the system and related tools.
  • Configure the MES tool effectively, leveraging its capabilities to meet business needs and enhance productivity.
  • Optimize the MES system and implement customizations and extensions using coding techniques where necessary.
  • Work with cross-functional internal and external teams to take ownership of integrations with the MES platform, ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow between this, the PLM system, and other relevant tools.
About You
  • Significant experience in a similar or IT-related role is essential.
  • Experience working within a Microsoft enterprise environment is essential.
  • Experience working within the engineering, automotive, or motorsport industries is desirable.
  • A degree-level education in an IT or related technical discipline (e.g., Engineering) is desirable.
  • A team player with a willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges is essential.
  • ITIL Foundation Qualified is desirable.
  • A friendly and approachable disposition is essential.
