About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UK Design Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our Engineering Design & Environment team, you will report directly to the Head of Engineering Design & Environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a leadership role in designing and delivering innovative engineering solutions for our depot network. You will work closely with the Head of Engineering, Design & Environment, to implement various engineering projects aligned with the growth and transformation of our business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering design, project management, and procurement methodologies. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing new technology platforms to support our sites' ability to deliver continuous improvement and develop the supply chain.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Supporting the growth and project agendas of Brakes and Fresh Direct businesses through the provision of engineering design, systems expertise, and design authority.
  • Identifying and implementing new technology platforms to support sites' ability to deliver continuous improvement and develop the supply chain.
  • Ensuring the delivery of the build plan using standardized Project Management and procurement methodologies.
  • Working closely with Regional Engineering Managers to ensure key metrics, including delivery to time, cost, and quality, are achieved.
  • Designing and delivering facilities management assets that meet business requirements from a colleague, legal, and reliability perspective.

**Requirements:**

  • Significant previous experience within FMCG/construction or an industrial environment.
  • Proven track record of working on projects from concept to delivery.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and a good level of understanding of Health and Safety, Fire Strategy, and Building Regulations within construction.
  • Relevant qualification, such as HND/Degree level or equivalent.
  • Highly motivated by the challenge of continuous improvement and value engineering for project delivery.
