Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the growth and project agendas of our businesses through the provision of engineering design, systems expertise, and design authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of UK Engineering, Design & Environment in implementing engineering projects aligned to the growth and transformation of our depot network
  • Provide engineering design, systems expertise, and design authority to support the innovation, development, and construction of new or re-configured buildings
  • Identify and implement new technology platforms to support sites' ability to deliver continuous improvement and develop the supply chain
  • Ensure the delivery of the build plan using standardized Project Management and procurement methodologies
  • Work closely with Regional Engineering Managers to ensure key metrics including delivery to time, cost, and quality are achieved
  • Design and deliver facilities management assets that meet business requirements from a colleague, legal, and reliability perspective
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to prepare, approve, and execute capital projects following PM processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience in an FMCG or industrial environment, including experience working on projects from concept to delivery
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and a good understanding of Health and Safety, Fire Strategy, and Building Regulations in construction
  • A relevant qualification (To HND or Degree level or equivalent)
  • High motivation by the challenge of continuous improvement and value engineering for project delivery
  • Keenness to learn and understand the operation and criticality of engineering as a key support to the success of the business
