Job Description

As a key member of the Great Bear team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the site Health & Safety culture, training MHE staff to use the Fleet Management System, and supporting site inductions and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Effectively lead the site Health & Safety culture, ensuring that safety is the top priority for all employees.
  • Training and Development: Train all MHE staff to use the Fleet Management System, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Site Inductions and Risk Assessments: Support site inductions and risk assessments, ensuring that all employees are aware of the potential hazards and risks associated with their jobs.
  • Technical Skills Training: Provide high-level technical skills training to support the operations area, using a variety of delivery methods to ensure that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Skills Matrix and Refresher Training: Develop a site skills matrix to ensure that all MHE operators have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and efficiently, and provide refresher training as needed to prevent skill fade and minimize risk.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Assist in the investigation of any on-site and MHE-related incidents or accidents, and ensure that all incidents are reported and documented in accordance with company policy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain a proactive approach to ensure continual reduction in risk from MHE operations, and develop learning from experience briefings to prevent further occurrences.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A high level of attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of Health and Safety principles and practices.
  • Skills: Excellent technical skills, with the ability to train and develop others, and a strong understanding of Fleet Management Systems.
