Job Title: Podiatrist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive qualified Podiatrist Specialist to join our department at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb in people of all ages.

The post holder will provide specialist care to patients in order to maintain mobility, independence, tissue viability, and to relieve discomfort especially for those patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and biomechanical pathologies.

The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, acting as a source of professional advice to patients, carers, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based podiatry within clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patients' homes, and nursing homes.
  • Provide high-quality support to others in the team and work into wider MDTs to the benefit of patients.
  • Contribute to the development of the Podiatry Department and adhere to Trust and Departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
Person Specification:
  • Diploma/Degree in Podiatric Medicine
  • HPC registration
  • Local anaesthetic certificate
  • First aid training
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Previous clinical experience
  • Previous NHS placement
