Andover, Hampshire, United Kingdom Hampshire County Council Full time
The Role:

We're privileged to work with some amazing people here at Hampshire County Council. We provide a residential service for adults with learning disabilities. As a Care Services Officer, you'll play a key role providing personalised support, so people can engage in a range of meaningful activities both out in the community and within our safe and comfortable environment.

You'll enjoy this diversity and use your person-centred approach to focus on their strengths, promoting their independence and tailoring your support to the individual. This will include helping people with eating and drinking, taking medication, personal care and communication. We aim to share our culture of care, respect and independence with everyone that uses our service and adopt an inclusive approach in everything we do.

You'll have an understanding of the needs of the service user group and have experience of working with them to achieve independence. Experience of enabling and providing care in a respite or residential service environment would be an advantage. Our Care Services Officers must be strong team players, so you'll need excellent communication skills for building positive relationships.

In return, we can offer you a comprehensive induction programme, so that you'll have all the training you need to do a fantastic job. You'll also get great satisfaction from supporting people get the most out of their stay with us. We're committed to your personal development and can support you to undertake an QCF/Apprenticeship in a care related subject. Joining us as a Care Services Officer will help prepare you for potential opportunities in the future to work at a senior level. We also offer an extensive Benefits Package.

As this is a 24/7 service, you'll be required to work a shift pattern to respond to the demands of the service. Your working pattern will include working bank holidays, every other weekend and a variety of shifts including early, late and sleep-in shifts.
