Main Responsibilities
  • Design and Deliver Positive Action Initiatives: Develop and implement Positive Action initiatives, programmes, and events for recruitment, on-boarding, retention, and progression within the Service.
  • Research and Develop Organisational Positive Action Plan: Conduct research and design an organisational Positive Action Plan, and assist with the preparation of the annual Workforce Plan and Annual Equality Report & Pay Gap reports for publication.
  • Identify and Develop Cross-Working Initiatives: Identify and work with external partners to develop cross-working initiatives that will increase interest and applications from underrepresented groups.
  • Create Processes for Underrepresented Staff: Develop processes that advance opportunities for underrepresented staff and embed them as business as usual, including mentor schemes, staff consultation, and involvement in the recruitment process.
  • Identify and Analyze Data Trends: Identify data trends, analyze, interpret, maintain, and present diversity and equality data, including the production of reports.
  • Coordinate and Communicate with Stakeholders: Ensure effective coordination and communication with all internal and external stakeholders to enable positive action and engagement initiatives to be delivered.
  • Plan and Deliver Positive Action Events: Plan, organise, coordinate, and deliver positive action events.
  • Develop and Deliver Training Sessions: Develop and deliver training and awareness sessions to internal staff to support the delivery of positive action and community engagement initiatives.
  • Engage with Communities and Individuals: Engage with communities and individuals to raise awareness of roles within the Service to underrepresented groups, developing interactive and innovative methods to promote the business as an employer of choice and providing advice and feedback as required.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Corporate Communications: Work with colleagues across the business to maintain a coordinated approach to supporting recruitment activities, and collaborate with Corporate Communications to create innovative promotional materials.
  • Attend Job Fairs and Community Events: Attend job fairs, community events, and hold/deliver Positive Action events to raise awareness of the business with underrepresented groups in relation to career opportunities, including running workshops and other interventions to identify barriers and appropriate development options.
  • Liaise with Schools and Colleges: Liaise with schools and colleges to engage with young people and promote the Service and available roles.
  • Prepare Reports and Present Data: Prepare reports and present data on Positive Action / Community Engagement activities as required and to agreed timescales. Attend internal/external meetings as required and undertake partnership working to assist in the delivery of post objectives.
  • Establish and Maintain Links with Employee Network Groups: Establish and maintain links with internal employee network groups, trade unions, and external agencies at an operational level to ensure the requirements of current and future initiatives are met.
  • Understand and Comply with Policies and Legislation: Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
