Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Thermo-Mechanical Research Engineer to join our team at Battery NEXUS. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced high temperature sensing systems for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Design and develop high temperature electro-mechanical sensing systems, utilizing 3D and FEA modeling and testing.
  • Materials Research: Research high temperature materials and components for use in sensing systems and use this information to help develop new sensing solutions.
  • Supplier Management: Work with suppliers to select and qualify components and materials and ensure compliance with quality and industry standards.
  • Design Analysis: Analyze and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and engineering drawings to create innovative designs that meet project requirements.
  • Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews, and recommend design modifications to improve functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Industry Trends: Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and apply them to improve design processes and product performance.

Requirements

  • Education: PhD or Master's degree in Engineering or Materials related science subject.
  • Experience: Research or industrial experience into high temperature materials ideally with Piezo properties, coatings and harsh environments.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in at least one of the following industry standard software tools; MATLAB, Simulink, COMSOL, SolidWorks and, be proficient in Python & C.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify and propose solutions to complex technical challenges. Self-motivated. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
