We are seeking a highly skilled Thermo-Mechanical Research Engineer to join our team at Battery NEXUS. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high temperature electro-mechanical sensing systems, utilizing 3D and FEA modeling and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Design and development of high temperature sensing systems, utilizing 3D and FEA modeling and testing.
- Researching high temperature materials and components for use in sensing systems and using this information to help develop new sensing solutions.
- Collaboration with suppliers to select and qualify components and materials, ensuring compliance with quality and industry standards.
- Analysis and interpretation of technical specifications, schematics, and engineering drawings to create innovative designs that meet project requirements.
- Participation in design reviews, recommending design modifications to improve functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Maintenance of knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying them to improve design processes and product performance.
- PhD or Master's degree in Engineering or Materials related science subject.
- Research or industrial experience in high temperature materials, ideally with Piezo properties, coatings, and harsh environments.
- Design and testing of mechanical systems and components in high temperature environments.
- Expertise in at least one of the following industry standard software tools: MATLAB, Simulink, COMSOL, SolidWorks, and proficiency in Python & C.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify and propose solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
