About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join our Radiotherapy Department at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Patient Care
    • Provide exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective patient care and support.
    • Assist patients with appointment queries, provide information, and answer questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Administrative and Clerical Support
    • Manage and maintain accurate patient records, including data entry and case note tracking.
    • Assist with administrative tasks, such as booking appointments, scheduling treatments, and preparing patient information.
  • Clinical Support and Assistance
    • Provide clinical support to radiotherapy staff, including assisting with patient care, preparing patients for treatment, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
    • Assist with tasks such as phlebotomy, cannulation, and taking vital signs.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and support.
    • Communicate with colleagues, patients, and families to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Vocational healthcare qualification at level 3 or willingness to work towards.
    • Apprenticeships will be candidate-specific based on skills and qualifications relevant to this post.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Effective communication, team working, and customer care skills.
    • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
    • Able to work using own initiative, following instructions from a Registered professional.

    • Ability to demonstrate the organisational values and behaviours.
