About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join our Radiotherapy department at The Christie NHS FT. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive clinical, administrative, and clerical support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate recording of treatment and planning data, organizing and scheduling patient appointments, greeting and escorting patients, and assisting patients with appointment queries.
  • Assist and support radiotherapy staff in supporting patients' physical, clinical, and emotional needs while attending, including care of post-operative patients, changing dressings, tracheostomy support, and working with patients who have communication difficulties due to their condition.
  • Provide and receive routine information using tact, empathetic, and reassuring skills towards patients and carers.
  • Liaise between all Christie radiotherapy centers, host sites, and community where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Vocational healthcare qualification at level 3 or willingness to work towards.
  • Apprenticeships will be candidate-specific based on skills and qualifications relevant to this post.
  • Effective communication, team working, and customer care skills.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Able to work using own initiative, following instructions from a Registered professional.
  • Ability to work under pressure, coping with frequent interruptions/requests.
Working Conditions
  • Working hours must be flexible to the needs of the service, which may include working weekends.
  • Expected to participate in all shift patterns.
