About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Porter at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital by transporting patients, goods, and equipment between departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients, including those who are critically ill or require specialized care, to and from various departments and facilities.
  • Move medical supplies, equipment, and other essential items to and from storage areas, operating rooms, and patient rooms.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts, including responding to fire alarms and supporting security personnel.
  • Deputize for Shift Leads in their absence and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform non-routine portering duties, such as moving office furniture and equipment.
  • Replenish medical gas supplies and connect to medical gas systems as required.
  • Transfer deceased patients to the mortuary and complete necessary documentation.
  • Provide support to security staff as needed.
