Job Summary

This role is open to applicants currently working within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).

The Patient Safety and Governance team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an individual to join our team as a Patient Safety Manager. You will champion and promote patient safety improvement across the Trust and lead on the Learning from Deaths processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure systems and processes are in place to monitor patient safety, focusing on learning from deaths, incidents, and national safety alerts.

• Deliver Trust patient safety priorities, promote a safety culture emphasizing learning, and support staff in learning responses and thematic reviews.

• Assist the Associate Director of Governance and Head of Patient Safety and Risk in delivering the Trust safety strategy, utilizing expertise in the NHS Patient Safety Strategy.

Person Specification:

• Essential:

• Degree or equivalent experience

• Safety improvement experience and knowledge

• Knowledge of patient safety in the NHS

• Prioritization, written communication, investigation techniques, and IT skills

• Desirable:

• Statistical analysis

• Human factors applicable to investigations
