Important Note: Proven experience in care and/or a Care Certificate (or equivalent) is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

You will address both the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Additionally, you will fulfill the Trust's requirements regarding induction, mandatory, and statutory training.

Maintaining high standards of patient care in accordance with Trust policies and guidelines will be a priority.

You will function as an effective member of the nursing and broader multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

It is essential to operate within the defined scope of the Healthcare Assistant role and to refer to the Registered Nurse as necessary.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Care Certificate obtained
  • Evidence of completed competencies as part of a professional portfolio
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Evidence of functional skills or willingness to undertake

Experience

Essential:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting

Desirable:

  • Experience within an acute care environment

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Understanding of the role of caregivers in assisting patients with basic human needs
  • Familiarity with clinical procedures and patient observations

Desirable:

  • Awareness of risk management and health and safety considerations, including safe manual handling practices.
