Position Overview
The Trainee Healthcare Assistant program offers a unique opportunity for individuals aspiring to build a career in the healthcare sector. This initiative is designed for those who are eager to learn and grow within various healthcare settings.
These positions are ideal for candidates who may not have extensive prior experience but are enthusiastic about pursuing a career in healthcare, including pathways into nursing and allied health professions such as Physiotherapy or Speech & Language Therapy.
As a Trainee Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering personal care to patients while gaining invaluable experience in the field.
This program is specifically tailored for individuals without prior experience and includes the attainment of a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker qualification.
Candidates must be prepared to fulfill the following requirements:
Participate in an Assessment Day Commit to a designated start date Meet eligibility criteria including residency requirements and pre-employment checksIf you possess significant prior experience or relevant qualifications in healthcare and are interested in joining our team as a Healthcare Support Worker, we encourage you to apply through the appropriate channels.
Key Responsibilities
The program will commence with a structured training period that may involve roles within community services.
Participants will engage in an initial classroom-based training phase, followed by practical placements in ward areas to enhance skill development. Topics covered will include communication, basic life support, health and safety, equality and diversity, and duty of care, among others.
All trainees are required to complete assessments in mathematics and English at the appropriate level, which can be facilitated through our Functional Skills tutors as part of the apprenticeship.
