Join JPMorgan Chase & Co. as we continue to innovate and expand our digital retail banking services. We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Risk Management Associate to support our International Consumer Bank's Global Financial Crimes Compliance Advisory (GFCC) team at the Associate level.

The EMEA Compliance function at J.P. Morgan is committed to fostering a robust compliance culture by collaborating closely with various business units, legal, risk, and audit teams. The GFCC Department is tasked with overseeing financial crimes advisory, monitoring, investigations, sanctions, bribery and corruption, training, independent testing, and KYC quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver oversight and advisory services on financial crime matters to the Lines of Business (LOB) and functions, particularly as Chase UK and Nutmeg expand.
  • Advise on compliance with firm-wide policies, including Global KYC Standards and UK financial crime regulations, while staying informed on relevant legal changes and their implications for the business.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on LOB procedures related to essential processes such as Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Reviews, Periodic Reviews, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Special Due Diligence, and Negative Media assessments.
  • Analyze customer escalations involving AML incidents, negative news, sanctions, and/or higher-risk clients, as necessary.
  • Review financial crime-related management information from the first line of defense and identify and escalate AML/KYC or control concerns.
  • Assist in compliance monitoring of specific financial crime focus areas, as applicable.
  • Support submissions to relevant local, regional, or global committees and regulators, including necessary management information.
  • Contribute to the review, drafting, and updating of internal procedures and manuals.
  • Engage in risk assessments for new business initiatives, products, or projects, providing insights from an AML, Sanctions, and KYC perspective.
  • Offer advisory support on AML/KYC Risk Assessments and Regulatory Exams, collaborating with other second and third line of defense functions.
  • Facilitate relevant training for staff as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK financial crime regulations, including the UK Money Laundering Regulations and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group guidance.
  • Experience in the financial services sector, preferably with knowledge of retail banking products.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and make informed decisions regarding money laundering and terrorist financing, with a capacity to escalate issues when necessary.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex topics succinctly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification in AML or Financial Crime is advantageous.
  • Experience in advisory roles or other AML/KYC compliance functions is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
