Your Work Environment:

Our Barnsley facility serves as the center of excellence for formulated solutions in the Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India region. Adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards, the plant specializes in producing ready-to-use products that integrate optimal polymeric binder chemistry with various functional additives, resulting in superior physical and aesthetic properties, including flame retardancy, abrasion resistance, stretch recovery, and environmental comfort.

Collaborating closely with customers and major retail organizations, our products are utilized across domestic, commercial, and institutional sectors, including upholstered furnishings, window blinds, technical textiles for automotive, protective and industrial fabrics, and high-performance apparel.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for producing a variety of products, including aqueous compounds, ink and dye dispersions, and dispersants. This will be conducted in accordance with established procedures and operating instructions that encompass health, safety, environmental, quality, output, and efficiency aspects within a lower-tier Chemical Manufacturing Unit. You will ensure that the appropriate materials (in terms of quantity and specifications) are available for processing as needed, and you will package the final products into various sizes, ensuring that all packages are correctly labeled and secured. When necessary, you will engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting in a safe manner to meet production targets.

What We Seek:

The following responsibilities are associated with the role of Production Operator:

  • Maintain precise written records, such as batch sheets and inventory counts.
  • Package final products to guarantee timely supply to the warehouse or customers, ensuring subsequent batches are not delayed. Responsible for accurate labeling and securing of packages prior to dispatch, while ensuring no external contamination or damage occurs.
  • Ensure that the correct materials are prepared and accessible at the point of use.
  • Assist the production technician as needed in material charging.
  • Proactively participate in improvement initiatives to enhance the site's key performance indicators.
  • Lead efforts to uphold housekeeping standards and continuous improvement initiatives within your work area.
  • Comply with and promote adherence to company health, safety, and environmental policies, practices, and procedures, always striving for continuous improvement.
  • Train new staff to ensure they are familiar with detailed operational requirements prior to validation.

Skills That Will Make a Difference:

  • Minimum educational qualifications of GCSE level or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Familiarity with safety legislation, procedures, and quality systems (ISO).
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently under general supervision.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Possession of a Forklift Driver's License.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective planning abilities.
