About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Instructor to join our Community Respiratory Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality pulmonary rehabilitation services to patients in their own homes and clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the provision of pulmonary rehabilitation, utilizing knowledge of exercise prescription and advising, educating, and modifying patient performance during treatment sessions.
  • Hold responsibility for your own caseload, working independently, and perform re-assessments of patients by questioning, observing, and measuring their abilities and needs.
  • Develop and deliver individualized treatment programs of rehabilitation in patients' usual places of residence.
  • Assess, provide, fit, and demonstrate the use of a wide range of equipment to promote independence.
  • Support the safe and competent use of gym equipment, patient appliances, and aids used by patients.
  • Modify and progress exercises of patients either individually or within groups according to care plans set by registered physiotherapists.
  • Link with exercise referral schemes and other agencies promoting health and wellbeing to promote improved integrated care with community-based provision.
  • Deliver educational sessions to patient groups to promote self-management of their condition.
Requirements
  • Exercise Instructor qualification - Premier Training or YMCA Level 3.
  • Relevant professional qualification NVQ/REPs Level 3 with evidence of an anatomy/physiology base.
  • Evidence of training in rehabilitation/exercise prescription.
  • Previous experience of rehabilitation or gym instruction, delivering exercise-based programs on an individual and/or class-based level.
  • Experience of working in a community environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
