About the Role:
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in leading the day-to-day accounting function and developing group reporting. This role will work closely with the Credit Director to create operational and commercial efficiencies in the credit control department.
The Financial Controller will report directly to the Finance Director and work alongside the leadership team as required. The role will be based at our head office in Leeds, with the flexibility of hybrid working.
This is an exciting and demanding role for an experienced finance executive with drive, determination, and the ambition to progress their career in a dynamic and highly commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of monthly and yearly reporting to Group.
- Manage the monthly balance sheet review processes and evolve control processes in place.
- Identify balance sheet risks and mitigate them.
- Comply with external audit, internal audit, HMRC, and corporate governance requirements.
- Manage and control banking.
- Support the Commercial Accountant in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Review and forecast working capital on a regular basis.
Performance Management & Financial Analysis:
- Evolve management accounts, variance analysis, KPIs, and stakeholder reports.
- Review the current GL, cost centre, and profit centre structure and adapt as required.
- Build budget submission templates and control submission process from key stakeholders.
- Responsible for reported overheads and working capital.
- Provide support and guidance to the credit control departments.
- Provide commercial support and analysis to other stakeholders in the business.
Managerial:
- Day-to-day management of 4 direct reports.
- Ensure robust performance management is embedded across Finance.
- Ensure a culture of compliance is embedded within the Finance function.
Requirements:
- Visible and credible leadership skills.
- Previous experience in a Senior Finance role.
- Qualified Accountant.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on driving KPI performance.
- Knowledge of SAP is preferable.
- Hard working with strong personal integrity.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
