Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at a specialist school for pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work across 3 school sites in Brent, planning and delivering effective therapy programmes for pupils aged 3-19.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, resource, and prepare engaging therapy programmes for pupils with varying needs
  • Liaise with colleagues, external professionals, and families to ensure effective support
  • Deliver whole-staff therapeutic training and provide in-the-moment therapeutic support as needed
  • Support the successful operation of the school, as directed by the senior leadership team

About the School

The school is a large specialist SEND school based in Brent, catering for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Pupils have an education, health, and care plan, and most have severe or profound needs. The school uses a multi-disciplinary, personalized approach to supporting learners with a diverse curriculum.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of speech and language therapy and wider therapies
  • Understanding of mental health in children, adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and the impact on child development, attachment, and behavior
  • Understanding of child development, learning, and children with SEND
  • Understanding of relevant policies, codes of practice, and awareness of relevant legislation
