(c0b6) Job Overview
Below are the details outlining the responsibilities and objectives of the role, which will provide insight into the expectations associated with this position.
Role Purpose
To assist a young woman with diverse healthcare requirements.
Location
Swaffham, PE37
Position Details
I am a cheerful 26-year-old wheelchair user seeking to hire a Personal Assistant (PA) to provide my mother with some respite from her caregiving duties. I have intricate needs, including mobile peg feeding, so prior experience in this area would be beneficial. While receiving my peg feeding, I enjoy engaging in arts and crafts as well as gardening, so a PA who shares these hobbies would be ideal. I require assistance with personal care, transfers from wheelchair to toilet, and my PA must be capable of maneuvering a manual wheelchair and supporting me when navigating stairs (at least until I transition to more suitable living arrangements). Given that I may experience some communication challenges, it is essential that my PA communicates clearly. I can be sensitive to sudden loud noises due to acute hearing. I relish spending time outdoors when possible and have a fondness for animals and classic cars. We have a small dog at home, so a pet-friendly individual is necessary. Ideally, my PA will possess a driving license and have access to a personal vehicle with the appropriate insurance coverage.
Candidate Requirements
- Friendly and self-assured
- Experience with mobile peg feeding is advantageous
- Ability to work independently
- Female preferred due to personal care needs
- Must have a personal vehicle with suitable business insurance.
Compensation and Benefits
- The hourly rate for this position is £12.50
- Weekly hours: 4 hours, potentially 2-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- 5.6 weeks of paid leave per year, pro-rata, including bank holidays.
Additional Information
- This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be funded by the employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory 6-month probationary period is required.
