Job Details

The candidate will be working with a cheerful 26-year-old who requires a Personal Assistant (PA) to offer her mother some respite from caregiving duties. The individual has complex needs, including mobile peg feeding, thus experience in this area is preferred. The role includes personal care tasks, assisting with transfers from wheelchair to toilet, and supporting mobility, particularly on stairs until a more suitable living arrangement is secured.

Effective communication is crucial due to potential communication challenges, so the PA must articulate clearly. The candidate should be mindful of the individual’s sensitivity to sudden loud noises, as she has acute hearing. Enjoyment of outdoor activities, animals, and classic cars is a plus, as the individual loves spending time outside and has a small dog, making a pet-friendly attitude essential.

Ideally, the PA will possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle with the appropriate insurance coverage.

Terms and Conditions

The remuneration for this role is £12.50 per hour, with a commitment of 4 hours per week, potentially scheduled for afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additionally, the position includes 5.6 weeks of paid leave per year, pro-rata, inclusive of bank holidays.

Additional Information

This position is contingent upon a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be funded by the employer, and the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
