Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at the Defence Medical Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist mental health services to serving armed forces personnel and entitled civilians.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality mental health services to patients referred to our department, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions to meet the mental health needs of our patients.
  • Act as a clinical and educational resource to Medical Officers and General Practitioners, providing advice on mental health matters and promoting mental health awareness.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions for mental health problems, including individual, group, and tele-therapy sessions.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or graduate-level professional with background in mental health.
  • Substantial post-qualification training and experience in at least 2 evidence-based psychological therapies.
  • Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation from a recognised body (BABCP, BACP, UKCP).
