Job Description

Job Summary

BMR Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Clevedon, North Somerset. As a key member of our Manufacturing Systems Team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain lean manufacturing processes to minimize waste and maximize output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing cell layouts to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Specify and purchase tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive process excellence.

Requirements

  • Equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree, qualification, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of process documentation, procedure writing, and work instruction development.
  • Experience in optimizing production processes and providing production support.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to utilize root cause analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to meet requirements within agreed timescales.
  • Full comprehension of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  • MRP/ERP system use – SAP.
  • DFM/PFMEA awareness.
  • Experience in implementing change and change management.
  • Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.
