We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance department. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Management Accountant for their designated division within Residential Services. The Assistant Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the Management Accounts team to fulfill the accounting and reporting obligations for a specific division of Active Care Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of Regional and Divisional Profit & Loss statements and balance sheet entries to ensure accurate and timely recording in the month-end accounts, with guidance from the Management Accountant, specifically:
    • Ensure accurate and timely posting of revenue, payroll, and cost accrual/prepayment journals.
    • Prepare reconciliations for main trading account bank statements.
  • Contribute to the creation of precise and insightful management accounts, incorporating relevant KPIs, including revenue and margin analysis.
  • Support the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in accordance with established timelines, with assistance from the Management Accountant.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Progressing towards an AAT qualification or possessing relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • A positive and enthusiastic demeanor with a proactive approach.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel, with strong analytical and presentation capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Sage X3 software.
  • Effective communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt flexibly.
  • Commitment to ongoing improvement.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance team.
  • Working towards an accounting qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a dynamic and evolving team environment, particularly in private equity or healthcare sectors.
