Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Nuclear Safety Specialist to play a crucial role in the development of innovative nuclear power solutions. This position involves supporting the progression of our nuclear power initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the creation and upkeep of deterministic analysis programs to guarantee adherence to nuclear safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate deterministic factors into design choices.
- Ensure that quality and governance benchmarks are upheld for all deterministic analysis submissions.
- Work alongside various engineering disciplines to identify and rectify any discrepancies in design compliance with analysis requirements.
- Engage with other safety disciplines to conduct thorough safety evaluations.
- Present findings from deterministic analyses to bolster licensing efforts.

Support Functions
- Assist in the development and management of the deterministic analysis program as part of the overall nuclear safety case delivery strategy.
- Contribute to the hazard identification program by organizing and leading hazard identification studies, enabling engineering teams to utilize deterministic considerations in their design processes.
- Apply the necessary quality and governance standards to deterministic analyses and related submissions.

Collaboration
- Partner with engineering disciplines to ensure that designs align with deterministic analysis requirements and assist in addressing any gaps.
- Collaborate with other safety disciplines, including probabilistic safety assessment and hazard analysis, as needed.

Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or substantial relevant industry experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-functional project team.
- Experience in utilizing deterministic analysis to inform the design of nuclear power facilities.
- Familiarity with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design and operations.
- Experience in generating deterministic analysis documentation, including hazard identification, fault schedules, and nuclear safety categorization of functions and equipment.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 to £52,000, along with a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our attractive pension scheme includes 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. Additionally, you will receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, allowing you to tailor a benefits package that meets your individual needs.
