Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Systems team at Jacobs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing independent nuclear safety and technical assessment of mechanical systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing formal independent nuclear safety and technical assessment of documents relating to nuclear propulsion plant systems and components.
- Providing assurance activities (inspection, advice and assessment) for all types of mechanical systems and components that provide nuclear safety functions.
- Applying your personal skills and experience to other projects being carried out by Jacobs.
Requirements:
- Degree or Post Graduate qualification in an engineering, or scientific discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor systems for naval propulsion or civil power generation applications is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with code rules for construction of nuclear facility components would be an advantage.
- A willingness to travel if required for an individual project.
