RPS Group is seeking a Nuclear Safety Assessor to join our Health, Safety & Risk business. We are flexible on location. The RPS Group team has been a leading provider of nuclear safety and risk consultancy services to clients in the UK for over 30 years. Our core radiological safety assessment services are supported by in-house specialist capabilities in Criticality safety, Radiological Shielding assessment, Human Factors, Nuclear Fire and Peer Review from our team of 50 staff. This capability is complemented by a growing Fire (conventional) and Process Safety section providing services across a range of sectors.

The Role:

As a Nuclear Safety Assessor, you will be working on safety projects across the UK. You will be focused on the preparation of nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Working with appropriate supervision (RPS Project Manager and/or clients) delivering fit for purpose safety documentation.
* Liaison with engineering, plant operators and other specialist safety disciplines, e.g. Human Factors, Fire, Criticality, Radiological Shielding, Environmental, to present coherent and comprehensive safety cases.

Requirements:

* At least 2 years experience in nuclear safety (or other high hazard industries)
* A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control/ Electrical Engineering
* Excellent customer service manner with strong listening and interpersonal skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Flexible in approach to support effective delivery
