Oil and Gas company has opportunities available for a Nuclear Safety Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Risk business. We are flexible on location.


The Oil and Gas company team has been a leading provider of nuclear safety and risk consultancy services to clients in the industry for over 30 years. We are able to provide our core radiological safety assessment services supported with in-house specialist capabilities in Criticality safety, Radiological Shielding assessment, Human Factors, Nuclear Fire and Peer Review from our team of 50 staff.


The Job Description:

  • As a Nuclear Safety Specialist, you will be working on safety projects across the industry. You will be focused on the preparation of nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation.
  • Working with appropriate supervision (Oil and Gas company Project Manager and/or clients) delivering fit for purpose safety documentation.
  • Liaison with engineering, plant operators and other specialist safety disciplines, e.g. Human Factors, Fire, Criticality, Radiological Shielding, Environmental, to present coherent and comprehensive safety cases.
    • You will have at least 2 years experience in nuclear safety (or other high hazard industries).

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Conducting safety assessments and risk analyses to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
      • Developing and implementing safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
      • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
      • Providing training and guidance to colleagues on safety procedures and protocols.

      Requirements:

      • Relevant degree in a field such as Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control/ Electrical Engineering.
      • At least 2 years experience in nuclear safety (or other high hazard industries).
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
