Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Forensic Services team at West London NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide leadership and support to our Medium Secure Male rehabilitation ward, Lea Ward.
Main Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with national and local policies, including CPA and NICE guidelines.
- Lead the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and chair key clinical and management meetings on the ward.
- Assess patients in other hospitals and prisons to provide opinions on their care and treatment.
- Work closely with local psychiatric services and other agencies to facilitate the transfer or discharge of suitable patients.
- Participate in the follow-up with patients sent on trial or conditionally or absolutely discharged from the hospital.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Use of relevant tools, HCR20, HONOS.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
- GMC Specialist Register.
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
- Approved under S12.
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Participated in continuous professional development.
- Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
- Has actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes.
