London, Greater London, United Kingdom West London NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

West London NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Acute Mental Health Services team.

Incentive

We are pleased to offer a £20,000 Golden Hello (pro rata for part-time) for candidates who remain in the position for two years.

This role involves working within a 16-bed inpatient unit located on the grounds of a prominent hospital, conveniently situated near various local amenities. As a successful candidate, you will become part of a skilled and supportive team of consultants who have consistently exceeded benchmarks in our recent Staff Survey. Our team is united by a clear mission and a strong collaborative spirit. We are committed to fostering your professional and clinical growth, as well as supporting any specific areas of interest you wish to explore.

The ward manager and matron you will collaborate with are highly experienced and have assembled an exceptional team of professionals. The ward is actively engaged in the Positive and Caring Environments strategy, which aims to minimize restrictions by enhancing the provision of positive and proactive care. This initiative focuses on involving individuals in therapeutic interventions that can help prevent crises that may otherwise necessitate the use of force.

We are deeply committed to mitigating harm and improving the quality of life for individuals affected by mental health disorders within the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist who can:

  • Provide the highest standard of clinical care to our patients and their families.
  • Lead, nurture, and actively develop your team.
  • Consistently strive to enhance the quality of care we deliver, engaging with opportunities for learning, growth, and service improvement. Offer expert guidance to our matrons, managers, and directors regarding necessary improvements, potential funding opportunities, and strategic directions for the future. All changes will be made in consultation with our consultant team.
