About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Nuclear Safety Case to join our Site Safety team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for deterministic nuclear safety assessment for build and commission of Dreadnought and future class submarines.
You will author nuclear safety cases, including results of deterministic and probabilistic analyses of the submarine build and commission activities. Additionally, you will conduct ALARP assessments of new and legacy facilities and equipment, define, agree, and implement safety case requirements, and manage internal and external interfaces.
Your Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will need a degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (engineering or physical sciences) and previous experience in safety analysis and safety case production for high-hazard industries.
Desirable qualifications include Chartered Engineer status or active working towards it, previous experience working for a nuclear site and/or on the submarine programme, and relevant nuclear and/or safety degree programmes at universities such as Heriot-Watt, Aberdeen, Cranfield, Strathclyde, Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

As a member of our Site Safety team, you will be part of a growing and developing team undertaking the Dreadnought and Site Redevelopment Programmes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
