Principal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Site Safety team, responsible for deterministic nuclear safety assessment and authoring of safety cases for the Dreadnought and future class submarines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct deterministic nuclear safety assessments for the build and commission of submarines
- Author safety cases, including results of deterministic and probabilistic analyses
- Perform ALARP assessments of new and legacy facilities and equipment
- Define, agree, and implement safety case requirements
- Manage internal and external interfaces, including Engineering Authorities and regulatory bodies
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (engineering or physical sciences)
- Previous experience in safety analysis and safety case production for high-hazard industries
- Desirable: Chartered engineer or actively working towards this
- Previous experience working for a nuclear site and/or on the submarine programme
