Role Overview:
The Senior Commercial Lead will spearhead the commercial execution across a diverse range of contracts, collaborating closely with the Account Director. This role encompasses comprehensive contract management, profit enhancement, risk assessment, and compliance oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Commercial Lead will cultivate and manage various stakeholder relationships, including external clients, suppliers, and internal leadership teams. The role involves:

  • Directing commercial management resources to ensure proactive oversight of assigned contracts.
  • Formulating and advising on commercial strategies.
  • Evaluating and managing risks, including the analysis of revenue potential against costs and risks.
  • Overseeing the financial viability of contract variations.
  • Modeling and assessing contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and payment structures.
  • Demonstrating strong financial insight, including profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet management.
  • Generating reports and summaries for both senior and non-commercial audiences.
  • Establishing and enforcing commercial governance across contracts.
  • Managing commercial aspects of Total Facilities Management (TFM) and Minor Construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Addressing and countering unfounded contractual claims.
  • Taking a proactive role in managing contractual disputes with clients and third parties.
  • Producing claims related to any contentious contractual matters that may arise.
  • Ensuring comprehensive commercial governance for all subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Providing daily commercial support to various contract management teams.

Governance and Compliance:
The Senior Commercial Lead will ensure adherence to contract requirements, enhancing service quality by promoting awareness of contractual obligations among all company personnel. This includes:

  • Enforcing commercial compliance through audits and support aligned with the company's Minimum Commercial Standards.
  • Possessing extensive experience in commercial and contractual matters within Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts.
  • Holding a degree or diploma in Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or a related field in the Built Environment.
  • Understanding and applying relevant UK law pertaining to commercial contracts.
  • Ideally, being a member or pursuing membership in a recognized chartered institution.
