Position Overview

Boden Group is collaborating with a dedicated and expanding Facilities Management service provider seeking to enhance their commercial operations within their PFI agreements. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with interactions across a diverse portfolio.

Role Summary

The Senior Commercial Lead will oversee the commercial execution across a range of contracts, partnering closely with the Account Director. This position entails managing contract commercial aspects, driving profit enhancement, and overseeing risk and opportunity management while ensuring compliance.

The Senior Commercial Lead will cultivate and manage various stakeholder relationships, including external clients, suppliers, and internal business unit leadership.

The role will also involve leading commercial management teams to guarantee proactive and effective management of the assigned contracts.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial and contractual matters, demonstrating a proven ability to manage both pre and post-contract activities, including:

  • Formulating and advising on commercial strategies
  • Evaluating and managing risks, including analyzing revenue opportunities against costs and risks
  • Securing internal approvals for new bidding opportunities
  • Overseeing the commercial feasibility of contract variations
  • Leading negotiations across various disciplines, including supplier negotiations and contractual flow-downs
  • Possessing a strong understanding of contract law and its application in service and construction sectors
  • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of PFI agreements
  • Assisting in the management of PFI Lifecycle funds
  • Modeling and assessing contractual KPIs and Payment Mechanisms

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Significant experience in commercial and contractual roles within PFI agreements
  • Degree or diploma in Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or a related field in the Built Environment (FM, Land)
  • Understanding and practical application of relevant UK law applicable to commercial activities (e.g., Construction Act)
  • Membership or pursuit of membership in a recognized chartered institution is preferred
