About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our Hospitality team at Runwood Homes. As a Second Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our residents, working closely with our Head Chefs to ensure exceptional standards of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all stages of food preparation are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring the well-being of residents.
  • Ensure the cooking and serving of meals are in accordance with the menu and company requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure the quality of meals produced in terms of presentation and taste.
  • Ensure that portion control procedures are maintained, minimizing waste.
  • Ensure individual dietary requirements are met by following appropriate quantity charts and recipes or adapting dishes as needed.
  • Ensure that the necessary systems and checks are maintained to provide a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.
  • Monitor stock, maintain effective stock rotation, and place orders as required.
  • Deputize for the Head Chef as needed.
About You

The successful Second Chef will have relevant experience within a catering environment, with a secure understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements. You will also have your Food Hygiene Level 2 and ideally an NVQ Level 2.
