Role Description

We eagerly anticipate your application for the position of Radio Frequencies Technician.

The successful candidate will collaborate to provide or facilitate support for those in policing, focusing on establishing standards, sharing expertise, and promoting professional development. You will contribute to enhancing knowledge and practices within a professional community at the College. Your role will involve delivering practical assistance for policing in alignment with the College's strategic objectives and operational plans. You will also be responsible for maintaining, identifying, and supplying specialized communication and technical equipment to support the design, development, and execution of covert and other technical skills training programs.

Key Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will be tasked with:
• Installing or coordinating the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of communication and asset tracking systems in vehicles to ensure their proper, safe, and secure operation.
• Conducting timely, planned preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on radio, electronic, and other technical equipment for covert and technical skills training to ensure ongoing operational effectiveness as required.
• Collaborating with Technical Skills Training Teams and Technical Support colleagues to identify emerging technical equipment needs, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and suitable supply and availability to meet established requirements.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:
• Experience in producing and analyzing statistics and management information.
• Proven track record in planning and executing preventative maintenance, managing workload schedules, and ordering materials.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and academic terminology into an accessible format for all stakeholders.
